Below is information regarding a prescribed burn on the Prairie City SVRA on Weds. (6/18). Be advised that Scott Road—from White Rock Rd to the Boys Ranch—will be temporarily closed beginning at 8 am for approximately six hours. Smoke will be visible, including along Highway 50.

Pilot Peak Lookout Tower in El Dorado Co is open for the season! Thanks to more than 25 dedicated volunteers, the tower is staffed daily until 8 pm. These trained volunteers scan the horizon for smoke—providing early detection/information that helps firefighters respond quickly.

#BonanzaIncident: Ground and air resources are working a vegetation fire in the 5200 block of Bonanza Auto Road in Shingle Springs. The fire is approximately 5–6 acres, with multiple vehicles involved, and is moving at a moderate rate of spread.

#BonanzaIncident update (Wednesday, 7 am): The fire remains at 181 acres and is 15% contained. Throughout the day, crews will be monitoring for hot spots and continuing to strengthen control lines and mopping up. Please watch for fire personnel and equipment working in the area.

#BonanzaIncident: The fire remains at 181 acres; 40% contained. Due to steep terrain/unburned fuels nearby, it will remain in patrol status for several days to ensure full containment. Thanks to our partners for the strong & coordinated response - it definitely takes a village.

#BarFire: Ground and air resources are on scene of a vegetation fire in the 2400 block of Michigan Bar Road and Highway 104 in Ione in Amador County. The fire is currently estimated to be 3 - 5 acres, with crews making good headway.
