Canadian wildfire smoke is causing the "Haze" and this stuff is coming in low this morning impacting air quality, especially in the Hudson valley and across western New England. Anyone with respiratory issues should limit exposure to outside air until this clears.

Widespread mid to upper 90 degree heat indices common now up and down the Hudson Valley...a bit like a blast furnace out there with the gusty breeze.

Peak heat index observations for the day today...the hottest feeling weather was in the Hudson valley with real feel temps. into the 95-100 degree range for most.

This latest hot spell is not a heat wave yet, we need three consecutive days at or above 90° for that...but that's what I'm forecasting. That will make two for the month and three for the season so far at Albany. Sharply cooler and wet on Thursday.
