Jane Hedengren ran her mile in 4:23.50 at 65.88 secs. per lap. She ran her 2 mile in 9:17.75 at 69.72 secs. per lap. That's a difference of 3.84 seconds between the 2 races, which is incredible. That's a 8:30 2 mile for all those boys running around 4 minutes for a mile.

Bell Gardens senior Michael Granville broke HS 800 record at CA state meet trials on May 31, 1996 in a solo effort (I was there). His time of 1:46.45 stood for 29 years until it was broken last week by soph. Cooper Lutkenhaus at 1:46.26. Major props to the former record holder.

Talent at every school, no matter size. Woodcrest Christian's Eyan Turk & Menlo's Landon Pretre posted 2 fastest times at CA state XC meet. Past track season, those two runners finished 1st & 2nd in 3200 at CA state meet. Benjamin Bouie placed 2nd in 1600. Props to Div V runners.

The 115th dipsea.org takes place this Sunday, starting at 8am. It's the oldest trail race in U.S. Beginning in 1905, it’s run every year on 2nd Saturday in June. The event covers 7.4 scenic miles from Mill Valley to Stinson Beach and is limited to a field of 1,500.
