KFS educates young minds on Tree Growing at the Akili Kids Event Kenya Forest Service is participating in the Akili Kids event at Nairobi Club. The event, designed to entertain and engage children, provided a platform for various sponsors to showcase their products and services.

By engaging children in interactive activities & discussions, Kenya Forest Service aimed to instill an appreciation for the importance of trees in our ecosystem. Their efforts undoubtedly contributed to a fun and educational experience for all the children who attended the event.

Leading the KFS team is Nemwel Aruba, Assistant CFC Nairobi County, and Eric Amukamwa, Assistant Forester Westlands Subcounty.

Today at the recent Akili Kids event held at Nairobi Club, the Kenya Forest Service (KFS) took an active role in educating young minds about the importance of tree growing and environmental conservation.

Their efforts were complemented by Mr. Jesse Soleil, the president and co-founder of Akili TV, who participated in the tree planting exercise and spoke about the National Tree Planting Campaign, which aims to plant 15 billion trees by 2032.

The collaboration between KFS and Akili TV highlighted the importance of involving children in environmental initiatives from an early age. The event was a success in promoting environmental stewardship among the next generation. #TreesForBetterLives

Lake Naivasha Basin Ecosystem Project Launched Ministry of Environment, Climate Change & Forestry CS Dr Deborah Mlongo Barasa has launched the Lake Naivasha Basin Ecosystem Management Project aimed at restoring the vital ecosystem that supports livelihoods in Nyandarua County Government and Nakuru County Gov.

She called for stakeholder collaboration and warned against pollution. Key partners include WWF-Kenya, Global Environment Facility (GEF)-7, KFS, and NETFUND. Officials highlighted the project's role in catchment rehabilitation, tree growing, and community empowerment.

HAPPENING NOW! The CS Ministry of Environment, Climate Change & Forestry, Dr Deborah Mlongo Barasa, has arrived at the Kenya Forest Service Headquarters in Karura for her first familiarization tour of the institution charged with the sustainable management of forests in the country.

The CS was received by the Chief Conservator of Forests (CCF), Mr. Alex Lemarkoko, accompanied by the Vice Chairperson of the Board Mr. Kunal Chowdhari and the Senior Management Team. She is accompanied by the PS for State Department For Forestry Kenya, Gitonga Mugambi, CBS, and other senior ministry officials.

CCF Closes Firefighting Training at FoLEA Chief Conservator of Forests (CCF), Mr. Alex Lemarkoko today officiated the closing of a three-week firefighting training for Kenya Forest Service (KFS) officers at the Forest Law Enforcement Academy (FoLEA) in Londiani, Kericho County. The 22 trainees from the
