Today, Holocaust Memorial Day, Archbishop of York welcomed guests into Lambeth Palace for a Council of Christians and Jews event to mark the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz-Birkenau. Today we mourn the death of His Holiness Pope Francis.   In his last address, on Easter Day, he spoke of 'love triumphing over hatred', that ‘peace is possible’ and of his concern for antisemitism.   His teaching, humanity and compassion resonated deeply with our work in CCJ.

We extend our heartfelt congratulations to Pope Leo XIV. Pope Leo XIV spoke of bridge building and dialogue – values which resonate deeply with our vision and values at CCJ. In this new period of leadership, we send our prayers and best wishes to all within the Catholic Church.
