I have learned so much working through my first Student-Center Coaching Cycle. Thank you to Keri Bates for her hard work during Number Talks and for pushing her students to explain their thinking. Her class achieved 88% proficiency from 56% in just 2 weeks! See the pre/post.

CCPS kindergarteners are working hard on counting collections and comparing amounts up to 10. Love seeing our students counting and discussing mathematical concepts with partners.

It’s been such a pleasure working with Kindergarten on composing/decomposing teen numbers and questioning about the underlying “ten” in teen numbers.

I had the best time this past week working with our Kindergarten classes to “egg hunt” and create class pictographs to show and interpret data! Hope everyone had a wonderful Easter weekend.

Incredibly proud of these ladies and their students for having 100% PROFICIENCY for an addition word problem Coaching Cycle! The students started by VISUALIZING and then drawing an ILLUSTRATION to show the problem. #Seeing is believing/understanding

CCPS teachers are the BEST! Our First Grade teachers met after students dismissed (on the last day) to plan and prepare for next year. It is such a privilege to work with educators who continually work to improve the craft. Elizabeth Shaddix, Ed.D, NBCT @Emily_Hines_CCS
