Today marks my first day as president of Coastal Carolina University. Grateful for the warm #TealNation welcome from the President’s Council and the entire campus community. I’m excited to see all that we’ll accomplish as we reach forward together.

Yesterday, I toured our beautiful campus, and it was nothing short of incredible. Every corner reflects the pride, purpose, and potential of #TealNation.

I had a great time meeting with our Faculty Senate this week. It was a chance to connect and discuss what’s ahead for #CCU. As I begin this role, my focus is clear: listen, observe, and learn, and keep the momentum going as we build on the amazing work happening across campus.

I got a front-row seat to #SharkWeek this year. I was honored to join Dr. Dan Abel and his students on a shark research cruise, his final trip before retirement. Their fieldwork is not only impressive but deeply impactful, reflecting the power of experiential learning at #CCU.

What a pleasure meeting some of our orientation leaders today! Their energy and care help guide our newest Chanticleers as they start their #CCU journey. I'm incredibly grateful for their commitment to making sure every student feels welcomed, supported, and ready to thrive.

It was a delight to welcome members of the Coastal Carolina Association of Realtors Leadership Program to campus. With thriving commercial and investment real estate programs in Coastal Carolina Wall College of Business, #CCU is well positioned to partner with professionals and support student success.

This week, I experienced my first Orientation at Coastal Carolina University. I enjoyed meeting incoming students and families from across the country, including a few from my home state of Pennsylvania. I’m looking forward to the semester ahead and all that’s in store for #TealNation.
