Happy Birthday League of California Cities! You’re lookin’ good for 125 years old! Thanks to all the city leaders who joined us last week in Sacramento for the Annual Conference! You inspire our work everyday!

#CalCities joined Governor Gavin Newsom & leaders in the signing of the historic mental health reform yesterday. Proud to support Senator Susan Eggman's SB 326 which ensures CA is better equipped to meet the needs of individuals experiencing homelessness and severe behavioral health conditions.

Congratulations Mayor Sander! All of us League of California Cities are proud of you and excited about your year of leadership on the national stage!

Great to join local leaders to set League of California Cities legislative priorities next year on addressing homelessness, retail theft and fentanyl, and adding mental health and detox beds. Together, we can move the needle on these issues and improve the lives of all Californians. #ForAllofUs

People interested in helping San Diegans impacted by Monday's flood can make donations to the SD Foundation Flood Response Fund. The fund will provide emergency grants to nonprofits engaged in disaster relief. San Diego Foundation will match donations up to $100,000: SDFoundation.org/FloodResponse

Thanks UC Center Sacramento for hosting today’s lively discussion on “Bridging the Gap Between Forecast and Action” during the California Economic Futures Forum.

“The legislative process produces better outcomes for cities when lawmakers are informed by the united voices of city officials,” writes Cal Cities CEO Carolyn Coleman.

Wonderful to start my day in City of Rancho Cordova with National League of Cities President David M. Sander, Ph.D., CEO Clarence Anthony and city officials from across the country in California for NLC’s Summer Board and Leadership Meetings!

Another productive board meeting in the books! Last week #CalCities Board met in Pasadena to take action on several key ballot measures and advance our advocacy priorities. Thank you to City of Pasadena and Mayor @Victor_Gordo for welcoming us to your beautiful city!

With one day to go before final adjournment of the CA legislative session and hundreds of bills still in play, the League of California Cities Advocacy Team is ready for some late nights! Great to huddle with them today for a quick strategy session! #teamwork #cityvoices #localchoices

"Sen. Padilla’s bill will strengthen the partnership between all levels of government by investing in the diversity of solutions that cities throughout the state are carrying out to support vulnerable residents," said Carolyn Coleman. 👏 Senator Alex Padilla padilla.senate.gov/newsroom/press…

Agreed, Dan. Addressing homelessness has always been about “combining arms.” That’s why nearly 80 % of cities are investing local dollars to do this — and why we can’t afford for the state to step back now. League of California Cities calmatters.org/commentary/202…
