There’s no need to panic about the reported cases of #humanmetapneumovirus (HMPV). This commonly occurring virus causes respiratory illnesses and belongs to the same family as the respiratory syncytial virus (RSV). In SA, HMPV is detected as one of the normal respiratory viruses.
