Been reflecting on values today. Organisational values may or may not align with personal ones for everyone, but I stand firm with holding myself to account with displaying behavioural values & and personal integrity. Doing the right thing, respect, teamwork, being honest..

Article published in the Herald today. We really do need to rethink our models of care. heraldscotland.com/opinion/244663…

The community & voluntary sector are often seen as an afterthought, less important than their statutory colleagues in place based partnerships with councils, NHS, police; but it’s their intimate knowledge of a neighbourhood & its community that could make radical change happen 👇🏼

This report provides a good insight into rethinking our model of care towards the end of life and aligns with the priorities of #highlandhospice and #eolct. compassionindying.org.uk/resource/rethi… via Compassion in Dying

Everything works better when relationships work well The Relationships Project relationshipsproject.org/project/nhs-pa… Came across this today - chimes with much of the change we are trying to create @eolct Highland Hospice @hhprojectecho

Everything works better when relationships work well The Relationships Project relationshipsproject.org/project/nhs-pa… Thanks to Kate Cochrane NHS Highland for sharing this after our discussion about resilience planning for palliative and end of life care in Highland.

#PublicServices are at breaking point. Could a #CommunityFirst model rooted in the #Voluntary sector and #SocialEnterprises be the solution? ✨ Donna Hall ✨ shared her thoughts with Andrew Laird in our roundtable discussion on #RadicalPlaceLeadership. mutualventures.co.uk/post/place-lea…

I’m seeing so many public servants wanting to work closer with communities, across team boundaries with the person, the family, the community at the centre rather than the silo organisation. How do we remove the barriers? Creating an appetite for radical place leadership is vital

St Andrews University will receive £1m to research how to improve unscheduled care for people in the last year of life. It is encouraging that improving end of life care has been recognised by SG as having a significant part to play in addressing the challenges faced by the NHS.

I strongly welcome the Scottish Government commitment to link hospice funding to NHS pay awards from next year, but urgent help is also needed right now. The crisis in hospice funding has been caused by soaring NHS pay awards over many years. 👇🧵

Another report advocating the value based approach we are leading in Highland. Useful international comparisons. oecd.org/content/dam/oe…

This is an excellent interview between Donald Macaskill and Reform Scotland looking at the reform needed in health and social care and the wider public realm. youtu.be/CIsXnK-V6g0

Great to see the work of Highland Hospice being used as an example here. Huge potential to reduce cost and improve quality of experience by focussing resources on the right care, in the right place and at the right time to avoid costly hospital admissions wherever possible.
