A big warm welcome to our latest firefighters. Enjoyed watching them all display their skills in front of family, friends and Essex Fire Service colleagues plus Roger Hirst - for Essex and @Esex_HS. They all now join stations around the County. #TeamEssexFire

Chelmsford firefighters have been thanked for helping to save an 18-month-old boy this week when he fell unconscious after a seizure. Firefighters Thomas Bunting and Steven Small worked to give trauma care on the boy until the Ambulance Service arrived.

A poignant reminder and a moment to reflect, remember and give thanks for the work of firefighters across the globe. My thoughts with the families, colleagues and friends of those who made the ultimate sacrifice.
