🧑‍⚕️ Governor Kathy Hochul just signed legislation I helped moved through the Higher Ed. committee to allow nurses to complete part of their required training in a simulated learning environment. NY needs to hire 40,000 nurses by 2030–and this will undoubtedly help get us there.

Yesterday I joined Governor Kathy Hochul , Assemblywomen Fahy and Lupardo and NY's Independent Colleges & Universities to celebrate a new law that will allow nursing students to receive up to a third of their clinical education through simulation. (1/2)

This expands the ability of colleges to accept more nursing students instead of turning them away and it will fill much needed jobs in the nursing field. I spent 2 years w/our healthcare workers & colleges to reach this agreement. I was delighted to see it signed into law (2/2)
