A very Corpus collaboration that results in new research published in nature on 'hacking' photosynthesis by Tomi Baikie Laura T. Wey et al Jenny Zhang Howe Lab 2 of 2 Cambridge University bit.ly/42x8djK

Close to the end of my exciting time in Photosynthetic Microbes group Turun yliopisto - University of Turku, it was great to present my work on cytochrome c6A and its evolution at the Plant Unit Seminar. I’m usually a bit nervous before giving talks but during, I realise it’s one of the most fun parts of the job!

How can we engineer photosynthesis? Read the new Review by Jenny Zhang Howe Lab et al, discussing how electrons from photosynthetic electron transport chains can be rewired for solar-powered electricity generation and chemical synthesis Cambridge University nature.com/articles/s4422…

Photosynthetic electron transport chains can be 'rewired' for solar-powered electricity and chemical production. Check out our Nature Reviews Bioengineering review for insights into this exciting research field ☀️🌱⚡️🧪 #Photosynthesis #RenewableEnergy #Sustainability rdcu.be/dj6CW

Oxford really outdid itself to welcome us for #PlastidPreview 2023! Beautiful sunshine, beautiful New College, Oxford and beautiful science. I had fun presenting my project and wanted to thank the organisers Jani Reddy Bolla Jarvis Lab! #photosynthesis

Great #PlastidPreview conference at New College, Oxford, Oxford! The Howe lab delegation enjoyed the science and hospitality (see our group picture under the famous Harry Potter tree!) Special congrats to Bartosz Witek for winning a poster prize!

As a tradition in the Howe Lab we have a day out at least once a year (aka ‘lab jolly‘). Today, we visited the historic and pretty #FramlinghamCastle (managed by English Heritage) and refuelled with food and local ales after!

🔬Are you interested in a career in research? Applications are now open for the 2024 Experience Postgrad Life Sciences programme - a paid 8-week summer internship Cambridge University and Corpus Christi. Find out more and apply: bit.ly/3FYSfVA #LifeSciences #PhD

We are very pleased to invite applications for an exciting new position of Professor of Synthetic Biology or Engineering Biology. Come and work with us and our EngBio IRC group to build bridges across Cambridge University. More details here: jobs.cam.ac.uk/job/43556/

Thanks so much to the Joint Colloids Group for selecting me for this award!

Here's something a little different to our usual research. In our new perspective out now in Applied Phycology (The British Phycological Society), we describe how you can use the electrical signals of algae to generate music 🦠⚡️🎵. 🧵1/12 tandfonline.com/doi/full/10.10…
