There aren’t a lot of truly interesting USSR era photo books but I’ve been scanning this 1977 collection of nighttime cityscapes in the Nevski district of St Petersburg and it’s seriously so breathtaking and dreamy.

I used to buy the “3rd space” epidemic until I realized you can just go to a bar. Or basketball court. Or gym. Or church. You can just invite acquaintances to do stuff. The death of the 3rd place is just the collective normalization of introversion. There’s plenty of spaces.
