Dept of Homeland Security identifies woman detained by ERO Boston on Thursday as Ferreira de Oliveira. She entered the U.S. illegally in August 2022. She was previously arrested by local police on assault & battery with a dangerous weapon and assault on a pregnant victim. 1/2

The Statement from Homeland Security continues: “District Councilor for the City of Worcester Haxhiaj pulled a political stunt and incited chaos by trying to obstruct law enforcement. ICE officers and local police regained control of the situation and ICE arrest Ferreira de Oliveira.”

JUST IN: Spectrum News 1 has confirmed that City of Worcester District 5 city councilor Etel Haxhiaj has been charged by Worcester PD with assaulting and interfering with police during a May 8th ERO Boston operation in the city. She will arraigned in July 23rd.
