Was excited yesterday to officially kick-off our #industry-sponsored line of research in Lampe Joint Biomedical Engineering with Orthofeet, Inc. to study the effects of footwear on walking biomechanics in older and orthopaedic consumers. Great to have Andy Shelton and Ross Smith on the team!

Our preprint alert: Hip exoskeleton, acting on mediolateral direction, can modulate step width in normal walking. When assisting adduction, two subjects even generated "catwalk" pattern, making me think maybe exoskeleton can be also used to train models for fashion runway walk😆

Publication highlight: Derek Kamper and colleagues improved upper limb function in two participants after stroke through a new application of spinal cord stimulation. The method increased voluntary muscle activation without increasing involuntary muscle excitation.
