Today I passed the Rent Transparency Act! A tool that will alert tenants that 1 or more units in their building are rent stabilized. The bilingual signs within common areas will share how to request rental history. This will protect 2 million New Yorkers from illegal rent hikes.

INT 1037-A (sponsored by Council Member Sandy Nurse) requires owners of multiple dwelling buildings with rent-stabilized units to post a sign stating that the building contains such units and provide information for how tenants can determine if their units are rent stabilized.

Following multiple reports that masked agents swarmed immigration courthouses in Manhattan, we condemn these destabilizing, fascistic acts and call on the Mayor to stand with immigrant New Yorkers.
