870+ affordable apartments at Atlantic Yards are still unbuilt. This isn't just a delay. It’s causing displacement. We must hold developers accountable, collect the penalties and build the housing. Thank you BrooklynSpeaks for today’s press conference.

I’m encouraged that Judge Rosado is upholding the TRO blocking Mayor Adams’ executive order allowing ICE at Rikers. City agencies shouldn’t be an extension of the Trump admin’s harmful deportation agenda. Proud to be part of a Council that defends the rights of all New Yorkers.

For 20+ years, the public has waited for the affordable housing AY promised. Now Empire State Development is letting the developer off the hook, by not collecting over $1.7M/month in penalties. Our communities deserve accountability and housing, not broken promises.

I rallied w/colleagues, residents, & BKSpeaks to demand that ESD enforce liquidated damages on the developers of Atlantic Yards for not providing the affordable housing they are required to build. Developers must be held accountable when they don’t live up to their promises.

Child care should not be a financial burden on families, costing more than rent and forcing them to leave NYC altogether. We can't let our families down in this year's budget. Mayor Adams must include 2-Care in the final budget. Families are counting on it. New Yorkers United for Child Care UNHNY

These deadlines and damages represent accountability measures negotiated by the BrooklynSpeaks coalition and community advocates back in 2014 to prevent developers from breaking promises without consequence. Brooklyn was promised housing, and we demand it. gothamist.com/news/brooklyn-…

I was thrilled to celebrate the completed restoration of the Grand Army Plaza Arch this morning! This arch is a gateway to Brooklyn’s Backyard and honors the Civil War, reflecting the values we hold as Brooklynites. Tours will be open to the public later this month!

Amid an affordability crisis, the NYC Water Board is proposing a 3.7% hike. I urged them to reject it by submitting testimony earlier this week. New Yorkers need relief, not higher bills on essential utilities. My full testimony ⬇️🌊🥤
