This morning, D.A. Bragg joined Council Member Shaun Abreu and CB9 Manhattan’s 3rd Annual Senior Resource Fair in Harlem as we connected with community members and shared our Office’s resources!

Update on the fire at 149th and Broadway: 5 civilians and 4 firefighters had minor injuries. One firefighter has been hospitalized but is doing well. Red Cross and my office are available to support anyone affected. We have also offered support to the affected businesses.

UPDATE: Apartments 3B and 4B were required to vacate and impacted families were arranged housing with the Red Cross. Folks living in the other apartments were allowed to return, but there’s water damage throughout.

Clean streets require investment. That’s why I joined Council Member Shaun Abreu + 26 CMs in urging Mayor Adams to dedicate $5M in FY26 for permanent waste containers in BIDS, in response to DSNY's Clean Curbs for BIDS rule. The cost to comply is substantial & we need the Mayor to pitch in.

Thank you to Council Member Sandy Nurse and Council Member Shaun Abreu for elevating this important issue. We must do what we can to make sure we keep our neighborhood streets clean.

It was an honor to recognize Memorial Day at the Soldiers’ and Sailors’ Monument this morning. Countless New Yorkers have sacrificed for our freedoms. They provided the foundation for our city, and we’ll never forget it.

When we fight in our budget for New York Legal Assistance Group (NYLAG) and other legal service providers, we are standing up for people like Dylan, who have rights that must be protected. The handling of his court case makes our nation less safe by discouraging participation in the legal process. Shameful.

This rhetoric has no place in our city and is part of a playbook to divide us and spread hate. It is dangerous and unacceptable. Council Member Paladino should remember that she was elected to represent every resident of her Council District and has a responsibility to her
