Today, we recognize the harm inflicted on Black Americans in the era of slavery, and we celebrate liberation and resilience. I was honored to join my colleagues in proclaiming today as Juneteenth Day. We must continue to address the historic and ongoing harm to Black Americans

Today I raised serious concerns after learning that unidentified men threw a hotel worker to the ground and took her away. We’ve since learned they were federal agents acting under the direction of DHS. I will not stay silent as authoritarian tactics play out in our communities.

The City Council just voted unanimously to support my resolution backing AB 1127 to ban DIY machine guns. These deadly weapons can fire 1,200 rounds a minute. We must close this loophole and protect our neighborhoods. Thank you!

Pride is about choosing joy over shame and visibility over fear. At our #SDPride Kickoff at City Hall, I stood with Councilmember Stephen Whitburn, Councilmember Marni von Wilpert, Councilmember Jennifer Campbell, and other LGBTQ+ friends and allies to celebrate our community’s power and progress. #Forward #ForAllofUs

This weekend, I proudly joined our community in the San Diego Pride Parade. As a proud member of our community, I know how important it is to be visible and to speak out. I will always stand for the right for everyone to live as their authentic selves in San Diego and beyond.

Comic-Con is here! As MTS Chair, I’m proud the Trolley gets you there—no traffic, no parking stress, just hop on and go. Whether you’re heading to the Convention Center or just checking out all of the action downtown, transit will save the day! 🦸‍♀️🦸

Seven new speed limit signs are now up on Washington Street in Hillcrest, part of the safer streets initiative I led under AB 43. Lowering speeds in dense business districts like Hillcrest protects everyone, whether you’re walking, biking, or driving. Thank you City crews!

Thank you to CBS 8 San Diego for highlighting our efforts to reduce speed limits across business activity districts in District 3 and across our city. Slowing speeds in dense, pedestrian-heavy areas reduces the likelihoods of crashes and saves lives. cbs8.com/article/news/l…

It was so great to celebrate the grand opening of the new River Studio at Grant Park! I brought home $500,000 in federal funds for this studio to serve as a hub for students to enjoy nature and get hands-on STEAM education.
