July is officially LGBTQ+ Pride Month in the City of San Diego! 🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️ I’m proud to help lead our city in celebrating Pride and uplifting the strength, history, and ongoing contributions of San Diego’s LGBTQ+ community.

The City Council just voted unanimously to support my resolution backing AB 1127 to ban DIY machine guns. These deadly weapons can fire 1,200 rounds a minute. We must close this loophole and protect our neighborhoods. Thank you!

Pride is about choosing joy over shame and visibility over fear. At our #SDPride Kickoff at City Hall, I stood with Councilmember Stephen Whitburn, Councilmember Marni von Wilpert, Councilmember Jennifer Campbell, and other LGBTQ+ friends and allies to celebrate our community’s power and progress. #Forward #ForAllofUs

Seven new speed limit signs are now up on Washington Street in Hillcrest, part of the safer streets initiative I led under AB 43. Lowering speeds in dense business districts like Hillcrest protects everyone, whether you’re walking, biking, or driving. Thank you City crews!

It was so great to celebrate the grand opening of the new River Studio at Grant Park! I brought home $500,000 in federal funds for this studio to serve as a hub for students to enjoy nature and get hands-on STEAM education.
