This week, we have been learning how to use a protractor to measure and draw angles. Year 5 have been working very hard and have been impressing the teachers!

Yesterday, we walked down to Priory Marina and took a boat down the river and experienced what happens in a lock. The children had great fun and we even saw lots of ducklings and goslings 🐥

In science, we are currently looking at properties of materials. This week, we have been testing which material would be the best insulator. Ask your child which it was! The teachers needed to find out what was going to keep their tea warm! 😂

Our new topic ‘rivers’ has kicked off with us learning the water cycle. We made these bags, where the water will evaporate, condensate and show precipitation just like what happens in real life!

We have been really busy in year 5 experimenting with different materials and their properties. We have also been lucky enough to go to the science labs and use Bunsen burners! We’ve been evaporating, dissolving, separating, insulating and so much more! More to come too!
