“Fix Swords!” is a command given to our Riflemen when they are about to engage in close combat with the enemy. In The Rifles, we call it a sword, not a bayonet.

In our regiment, we pride ourselves on the phrase, “Once a Rifleman, always a Rifleman”, which is why, as part of The Rifleman’s Association we set up the Always A Rifleman Programme to support our veterans who are in crisis. This includes antecedent and forming regiments.

Wishing ourselves a Happy Birthday! The Rifles was formed in 2007 when four famous regiments came together to create the largest infantry regiment in the British Army, which would quickly become battle-hardened on operations across Iraq, Afghanistan and beyond.

Riflemen are Army Nordic Champions! In their first-ever season the Infantry Women’s team earned a well-deserved victory. The Riflemen included Capt Kenzi Savill (PPCLI), Lt Annie Smith and 2Lt Sophie Brining who between them won every single race at Ex RUCKSACK 25.
