Get Outdoors Day is almost here! CPW volunteers gathered today to assemble fishing poles to give away to the first 800 youth (17 and younger) that show up. Come to Prospect Lake on Saturday from 9-2 for a day that makes nature fun, free and inclusive for everyone!

😻 We released 2 bobcats May 28 at Bosque Del Oso State Wildlife Area in CPW SE Region Region after they spent 11 months at CPW's Frisco Creek Wildlife Rehab in Del Norte. When the orphaned kittens came to us last July, they weighed 1.5 and 2.5 lbs each. Now, they're both 20 lbs!

CPW SE Region At Frisco Creek, the bobcats were kept warm and fed in an indoor structure until they were big enough to go outside and learn how to hunt on their own. They were released at the end of May to correspond with higher numbers of available prey to ease the transition back to the wild

Looking for something fun (and free!) to do this weekend? Come down to Prospect Lake at Memorial park for Get Outdoors Day! CPW is ready to go with 800 free fishing poles for the first kids (17 and under) to show up. Come down at 9am tomorrow to get yours!

At 9am sharp, CPW will be giving away 800 fishing poles to the first 800 youth (17 and under) to show up on the Northwest corner of Prospect Lake. The line is forming so come on down to Get Outdoors Day!

The Nature and Wildlife Discovery Center brought down their educational raptor, come say hi! Right next door you can learn the 7 Leave No Trace principles and maybe see a man on a unicycle!
