Thank you to everyone that joined our #Diwali celebrations by the River Soar in Leicester on Saturday. It was a fantastic occasion with spectacular lights, Diwali crafts and floating performances on the water. Thanks to players of Postcode Lottery for making it possible.

With recent rainfall enabling boats to once again use Foxton Locks, and lots of spooky half term activities it's a great time to visit this historic site. Find out more about what's going on at canalrivertrust.org.uk/news-and-views…

Built in the late 1700s, Blisworth Tunnel on the Grand Union Canal stretches for around 3,075 yards and is the longest wide, freely navigable canal tunnel in Europe. You can’t walk through the tunnel, but the towpaths to its entrances are open to explore. Have you been?

We've enlisted the help of The Rothen Group to clear around 260 tonnes of the invasive weed, Floating Pennywort, from the Nottingham & Beeston Canal. The works will clear the way for boats and allow more light into the water for fish and other wildlife. #KeepCanalsAlive

Nottingham's brand new walking and cycling bridge has landed in place on the banks of the river Trent! 🌉 Now, Nottingham’s skyline has a new landmark, however there is still more work to do to install, ramps, steps and walkways and a smaller bridge over Trent Basin ..

We hope everyone is safe and well after #StormClaudia. There are a number of fallen trees across our network in the East Midlands and water levels remain high, so please take care. To sign up for alerts on your local canal or river go to canalrivertrust.org.uk/boating/notice…
