A momentum bandgap in a time-varying medium is hard to reach. But exploiting a resonance helps tremendously, as shown here arxiv.org/abs/2310.02786. The resonance can be a material or a structural resonance, e.g., a metasurface! Thanks to all collaborators for that fantastic work.

If you wish to know how thick the 'surface layer' of a centro-symmetric molecular crystal is from which a 2nd-order nonlinear response emerges, read our article arxiv.org/abs/2310.20297. We used quantum chemical and optical simulations down to an individual molecule in the study.
