On March 24, Anjelica Miranda, a PhD student in Immunology at CU Anschutz, presented 'PI3K-mediated Regulation of Central B cell Tolerance in Type 1 Diabetes' as part of the Research in Progress (RIP) speaker series.

On April 7, CU DRC hosted Dr. Amy Shah, Professor of Pediatrics and Division Director at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center. We thank Dr. Shah for sharing her expertise through a presentation titled “Medical & Surgical Treatments for Youth with Type 2 Diabetes.”

The CU Diabetes Research Center hosted Dr. Steven K. Malin, Associate Professor at Robert Wood Johnson Medical School, at its bi-weekly DRC Speaker Series on April 18, 2025. Dr. Malin presented his research on the "Role of Exercise Timing and Chronotype on Type 2 Diabetes Risk.

CU DRC extends its gratitude to Dr. Henry Dong, Professor of Pediatrics, University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine, for sharing his research on FoxO1's role in Beta-Cell Compensation and Gestational Diabetes. The discussion took place on April 25, at the CU Anschutz Campus.

On April 28, Dr. Ana Gutierrez-Colina, Assistant Professor, Colorado State University, presented her innovative study utilizing Ecological Momentary Assessment (EMA) to capture real-time data on the barriers and facilitators of physical activity in at-risk youth.

The CU DRC was delighted to host Dr. Sharon Alterzon for the final session of the Spring 2025 DRC Speaker Series. Dr. Alterzon delivered an insightful presentation titled, “Beta-Cells Under Siege: Battling Oxidative Stress to Protect and Expand Beta-Cells for Diabetes.”
