Ahead of #CWPWorkshop, Kate Doust (Western Australia), Sioned Williams AS/MS 🏴 (Wales), Hon. Jameka L. Williams MHA (Turks & Caicos Islands), Hon. Susan Leblanc MLA (Nova Scotia) & Sharon Moses Commonwealth Parliamentary Association (CPA) HQ attended a sitting of the Senate of The Bahamas 🇧🇸, hosted by Senator Adderley


DAY 1: Delegates officially opened #CWPWorkshop with remarks from CWP Vice-Chair Kate Doust, Bahamas Senate President J. LaShell Adderley & Speaker Patricia Deveaux, then concluded w/ reception hosted by Governor-General of The Bahamas. #WomenInPolitics #Commonwealth #CWP2025


DAY 2: Delegates explored gender-responsive budgeting and inclusive lawmaking at #CWPWorkshop. Sessions included a powerful “powerwalk” on structural bias, followed by expert insights from UN Women Monique Long & Westminster Foundation for Democracy Maria.Mousmouti. #CWP2025


Dr. Maria Mousmouti from the Westminster Foundation for Democracy delivered a thought-provoking session on Gender-Sensitive Scrutiny of Bills and Laws at the #CWPWorkshop yesterday. Commonwealth Parliamentary Association (CPA) HQ Westminster Foundation for Democracy (WFD)




DAY 3: Delegates examined discriminatory laws & women’s economic empowerment at the #CWPWorkshop, with insights from UN Women Caribbean & Dame Janet Bostwick. The day concluded with a field visit to local women-led businesses supported by The Bahamas’ SBDC Bahamas. Commonwealth Parliamentary Association (CPA) HQ


DAY 4: The final day of the #CWPWorkshop began with an effective media session, led by Clint Watson The ZNS Network, Miranda Inniss, Sioned Williams AS/MS 🏴 and Lucie Lecours.
