Heading north to Aberdeen - excitingly, for the first time - for a Voices of the Future: Child & Youth Treescapes UKTreescapes research retreat.

Mountains! Actual mountains (in the distance, admittedly). Enjoying the journey to Aberdeen for our Voices of the Future: Child & Youth Treescapes UKTreescapes project retreat this week. The journey is providing great views and much-needed time to write. And this week much-needed time to focus on research!

It’s our Voices of the Future: Child & Youth Treescapes retreat at the University of Aberdeen!

Learning from our colleagues in Aberdeen about how to develop multi purpose Treescapes Voices of the Future: Child & Youth Treescapes retreat UKTreescapes

3 out of 4 of our family are participating in Voices of the Future: Child & Youth Treescapes so it’s wonderful that we are all here at the project retreat in Aberdeen. A privilege to be part of a team of inclusive, supportive #youth & #childhood scholars & artists. And to practice family #CoProduction!?

From Walt Whitman’s ‘The Lesson of a Tree’ to theories of change, from reflections on co-production to the possibility of hope: thanks so much to all of the speakers at yesterday’s Voices of the Future: Child & Youth Treescapes meeting University of Aberdeen - we learnt so much.

Fantastic Voices of the Future: Child & Youth Treescapes UKTreescapes morning learning about the ecological, environmental and social histories of one of our case study sites at Bennachie - including a (windy) talk with views of both the North Sea and Cairngorms

We climbed Bennachie! Missing @DrSimonCarr Voices of the Future: Child & Youth Treescapes

‘A storied landscape’ (Jeff Oliver): we spent the day learning about Bennachie - ‘Aberdeenshire’s most recognized landform’ - & the opportunities of co-production as part of our Voices of the Future: Child & Youth Treescapes project tandfonline.com/doi/full/10.10…

Back home after an incredibly inspiring Voices of the Future: Child & Youth Treescapes retreat in Aberdeen(shire). Many thanks to everyone involved in the organising & facilitating of such a brilliant few days. Now: time to reflect & to write.
