Come and let me convince you of why complex systems in death, dying & grief are where it’s at! I’ll be discussing this when I accept the #EAPC2024 post doctoral award on Friday morning 9.30am UCL Marie Curie EAPC VZW Marie Curie EOLC EoLC Research Group The Lancet

Excellent trial and results honestly reported by my colleagues at UCL Marie Curie.

Looking forward to presenting re Trinity Hospice virtual wards with emmadawson

Occasionally I am asked how to donate to Good Grief Festival, given that our events are free, so I'm using this as an opportunity to share our JustGiving page! Many thanks 🙏justgiving.com/fundraising/Go…

Brilliant to catch up with colleagues at our Bristol Palliative and End of Life Care Research summer social yesterday at the beautiful University of Bristol Botanical Gardens. The sun even graced us with its presence for a couple of hours. You were missed Dr Lucy Pocock (follow me on Blue Sky) Dr Ryann Sowden Emma Gilbert

This is Great Britain and the likes of Nigel Farage MP who stir up so much hate & division can just get in the sea.

Oh this is very sad news indeed. Robert Twycross was hugely important to the development of palliative care in the UK and beyond. He was kind, thoughtful and humble. He published this paper on assisted dying earlier this year, a topic he cared deeply about bmcpalliatcare.biomedcentral.com/counter/pdf/10…

The communication of poor prognosis from secondary to #PrimaryCare is highly valued by GPs, but rarely occurs due to cultural and systemic challenges doi.org/10.3399/BJGP.2… CAPC, Bristol Dr Lucy Pocock (follow me on Blue Sky) Bristol Palliative and End of Life Care Research Dr Sam Merriel 💙💛 Lucy Selman Cambridge Palliative & End of Life Research Group @purdy_s .

Please read our The Times and The Sunday Times letter about what dying is typically like. It would be so easy to fear from the examples cited in the assisted dying debate that horrific death is the norm. It isn't - really. Between us we have >300 yrs of combined experience treating dying people.
