My grandfather survived Auschwitz, worked his ass off to get a PhD in physics despite 5 years of slave labor w no schooling, and came to the US to build the camera for the Apollo missions. But I guess you don't want ppl like that in our country anymore you ungrateful jackass

The administration's proverbial slip is showing... If we're so worried about being taken advantage of in trade, why limit our best export (i.e. higher ed)? To use the President's parlance, we should try to take advantage of the suckers sending us their best and brightest!

Does this look like a “problem”? Or does it look like a simple pardonable offense? I’m struggling to see the difference between this and the horror JD Vance sees in LA.

It is really hard to imagine what the new leadership at FDA is trying to do in cell and gene therapy. The economics of this sector have been challenging enough without introducing greater regulatory costs and uncertainty.

I’m often asked why I put so much emphasis on pharma innovation. Gilead is a prime example. If you’re my age, you grew up terrified of HIV. I remember so clearly when Magic announced he was positive. That HIV is now a manageable condition and preventable is amazing.

I’m totally open to a faster and more transparent FDA process (as long as we also recognize the agency made great strides on this front in last two decades). Introducing politics into a voucher program opens the door to a less rigorous and trusted agency. This hurts everyone.

How can you read this and not think this family isn’t at best amazingly selfish and at worst child abusers. On selfish. Not vaccinating because your kids “won’t encounter” disease is horrible. On abuse - kids suffer because of parent’s horrible decision! nytimes.com/2025/06/22/us/…

Kids are the ultimate experience good … Given they are hard for return, it’s reasonable to have some risk aversion. Perhaps people with kids could talk more about why they’re awesome and less about how hard it is?
