Another physicist (Christian Ferko) has done a little review of Eric Weinstein's theory and does a great job explaining to laymen how much of a pathetic incoherent non-starter Geometric Unity really is.

This is the MAGA framing of the Epstein stuff… yes, we all care about it but it’s not Trump’s fault. It’s the evil advisors to the king that are the problem. That’s who we need to focus our ire on! Trump is great, his tariffs are amazing & he deserves a Nobel peace prize!

When people found a way to make safe vaccines with no mercury, he renamed his anti-vaccine organization from “the world mercury project” to “children’s health defense.” Responding to his fear mongering never ends his fear mongering because fear is his only product.

Growing up in Tokyo I lived 15min from Studio Ghibli. One day I worked up the courage to knock and ask for a tour. They answered, were super confused but let me in, showed me around and even gave me some merch. A few weeks later, I passed by and saw a sign: “not open to public”

Well this is one of the worst takes I've ever heard from Sabine Hossenfelder - that Eric Weinstein's theory is bad, but no worse than any other theory in academic theoretical physics, and physicists won't take Eric seriously because they're "scared" he will expose them

The exchange between Mick and Eric in this thread is very illustrative of the distinction between them. Mick responds specifically to Eric's questions and tries to clarify his position... Eric, meanwhile, flounces around points in obscurantist prose, making vague accusations.

So Sabine Hossenfelder deleted my post on her blog criticizing Eric Weinstein after I called out her grift supporting Eric and his friends. And she also blocked me on X. Looks like Sabine needed to cover her tracks since the no-holds barred science critic shtick is up. 🧵 1/

Sabine's (Sabine Hossenfelder) defence of Geometric Unity having gauge anomalies (this is when a classical theory can not be translated to a sensible quantum theory) is that quantum theory itself is not fundamental. Sure, if quantum theory is not fundamental and if anomalous theories are

It would be far easier to just say: “I refuse to criticise my friend/bedfellow”. People might even have a small measure of respect for that. What they don’t respect is someone claiming all ideas are equally valid because none completely solves physics. That’s asinine.

The rationalists encountering the obscurantist pretentious prose of Sam Kriss was not on my bingo card but I’m here for it.

JD Vance meets with Tim Dillon to explain Epstein. Netanyahu meets with the NELK boys to explain Gaza. All we need now is Putin to explain Ukraine to Bert Kreischer.

Funnily enough there are hereditarians, such as Nathan Cofnas, who have argued that East Asians are especially smart in part because they're "genetically adapted to the arduous demands of the rice paddy," and Southeast Asian societies with these relatively mediocre modern
