The 32nd Robeson Football Classic was held on June 10, at East Orange Campus High. And again, the game was a big success. Thanks to many who make the game a hit, led by Ken Trimmer, Michael Carter and Dr. Steven Cowan. Wonderful Hall of Fame ceremony, as well. Joseph Fleres

A great era in Cedar Grove Softball concludes tonight at Ivy Hill Park, for 7 seniors. But it's a program that has epitomized winning for a number of decades. Best of luck, Panthers.

NJ High school softball season now concluded. Congrats to the 4 Public School champions for 2025, including first-ever 3-peat champions Steinert (Group 3) and Cedar Grove Softball (Group 1), as well as Hunterdon Central (Group 4) and Gloucester (Group 2).

NJ High School softball champions, Non-Public, for 2025, include DePaul Catholic Softball, in Non-Public, B and Mount St. Dominic Academy, the state's top team, in Non-Public A.

Essex County softball: Great year concludes with two NJSIAA champions, Mount St. Dominic, in Non-Public A, and Cedar Grove Softball in Group 1. MSDA also won its 4th straight sectional crown and 2nd consecutive ECT while Cedar Grove captured the SEC American championship.

An incredible night for Nina Caputo of Cedar Grove Softball included a 3-run homer, with 2 outs, and 4 RBI overall, as the Panthers won its third straight Group 1 championship on June 13, at Ivy Hill Park. Panthers finish 25-5.

A final hoo-rah for a legendary Cedar Grove Softball battery. Cayce Kavakich and Ava Oeckel 2025

In their final high school softball game, Gabriella Florre 2025 and Cayce Kavakich each had 2 hits and CK pitched her third straight shutout in a Group 1 final, as Cedar Grove Softball won a first-ever 3-peat in Group 1.

Some classic moments as Cedar Grove Softball parents and friends enjoyed a pre-game gathering on the roof adjacent to Ivy Hill Park, before the Panthers went on to win its 3rd straight Group 1 championship, the first time that's ever been accomplished in Group 1. Dina Fernandez

Incredible team effort, as Cedar Grove Softball wins a first-ever, 3-peat title, in Group 1. How appropriate was it that Leah Weinstein, in her final game, recorded the final out with a magnificent catch in RF? Reminded me of Paul O'Neill's catch in Game #5 of the 1996 World Series.

And while the 'Magnificent 7' seniors for Cedar Grove Softball were all tremendous, a huge shout out to junior Nina Caputo, who hit a 3-run HR, with 2 outs, in the bottom of the 2nd inning, of the Group 1 title game, to get her a team a 3-0 lead. Nina finished with 4 RBI in the game.

Thanks for all the great memories while playing for Cedar Grove Softball. Congrats on your selection to the All-Star game. Well deserved, Ava Oeckel 2025, Cayce Kavakich and Gia Fernandez.

Wishing all 3 a great summer. Looking forward to following your college softball careers now. Cedar Grove Softball

Congratulations to Gabriella Shadek-DUKE Commit for being named the 2025 Softball Player of the Year. IHA Softball Michael J Fasano

Very happy to see that Allie Nankivell was named a first-team, All-State softball player for 2025. Well deserved. She will continue her softball career at the University of Delaware, and I'm sure she'll be tremendous. An incredible outfielder and tremendous bat. Livingston HS Varsity Softball

Almost 37 years ago, this Bloomfield High football team snapped 'The Streak'. A year later, they were in the NJSIAA playoffs. Michael Carter Joseph Fleres
