Ah, I see I've slipped back into the "I hate every word I'm writing," phase. That's useful for when I edit, but alas, I am not editing at the moment. Can't wait for two weeks to go by so I can reenter the "delusional self-confidence" zone where good drafting happens.

The latest marketing scam DM asked me if "my stories were based on real life or if they were entirely fictional." Yeah, the story with demigod twins and a sentient tiger hunting demons in feudal-not-Japan is based on true events. In fact, it's basically a documentary.

Who's your favorite dad in fiction? I'll go with Zaknafein, Drizzt Do'Urden's father. We don't get much of him, but he's such a compelling character.

I'm reading the scene where Rikard is giving Alex lessons in comportment, how to move gracefully, etc, and I am beyond impressed that Abercrombie actually understands proper scapular function. This is like a writer understanding some aspects of auto repair as well as a mechanic.
