Was great to be back at the Boo Williams tournament this week. I also must have witnessed at least a dozen incidents where a parent was just laying into a kid about her play. I'm 99.9 % sure that it didn't help her in more ways than 1. It's not good to do that and in public. 🤦‍♂️

Just curious if the number of scholarships have been raised for NCAA teams? I see lots of scholarships offered from some schools that exceed the current number. Maybe anticipated portal losses? Or offer 20 and tell them first to take it, get it? Very interesting to me. Hmm???

When coaching, I feel it's important to teach and coach players and tell them what they need to hear and not what they want to hear. We're not helping them by misleading them. Players should want that as well. That's when you start really turning the corner and growing. #truth

I think in this time of coaching and for the players competing, this simple sentence and message will pay off. Refuse to lower your standards to accommodate those who refuse to raise them! Remember, there are lots of opportunities to have coachable moments and moments to learn.

Don't change your standards to meet their actions. Change their actions to meet your standards. We're not helping these players by not holding them to our standards because we're afraid they might transfer. Push them to be their best and let them see what they are capable of.
