Never know when your time to shine might come. Sadie Burroughs, Savannah Gonzalez and Dillyn Eckenrod came into tonight’s Division 1 softball final with a combined average of .233 (38-163) The trio went 5 for 9 tonight and gave Norco’s offense a needed spark in fifth inning.

Sydney Douglas has transferred to Centennial, according to the Centennial girls basketball Instagram account. Douglas, a 6-foot-7 sophomore to be, helped Ontario Christian win a CIF Southern Section Open Division title last season.

Norco HS graduate Abby Dayton briefly kept Oklahoma’s season alive. Dayton hit three homers this year. One against Karlyn Pickens and this one against NiJaree Canady. Third was against CSUN’s Isabella Alonso.

Today is the 18th anniversary of Santiago HS graduate Taryne Mowatt-McKinney finishing off a stunning pitching performance at the 2007 WCWS. Mowatt-McKinney threw 1,037 pitches over eight games. She capped it with a shutout over Tennessee to secure another national title for Arizona.

The final pick of this year’s NBA Draft is Etiwanda HS graduate Jahmai Mashack. Picked by the Memphis Grizzlies. Mashack played collegiately at Tennessee and is considered an elite perimeter defender.
