Exceptions don't work. Exceptions don't work. Exceptions don't work. Exceptions don't work. Exceptions don't work. How many more times must we watch this play out? EXCEPTIONS. DON'T. WORK. bit.ly/3M24fbE

In Louisiana, a new law is reclassifying the safe and effective drug misoprostol as a "controlled dangerous substance", making it harder for doctors to treat severe bleeding after childbirth. Over 200 doctors have warned that this could be a death sentence for some patients.

Thank you to everyone one who stood with us against the anti-abortion movement’s annual rally yesterday, shout out to our great speakers and fantastic team of volunteer stewards. We stood up to the anti-choice bullies and reasserted loud and clear that abortion *is* healthcare.

Our members were proud to join this counter-demonstration. These zealots don't just want a total ban on abortion, taking ownership of our bodies from us - their mantra of 'life from conception, no exception' would ban IVF and even contraception like IUD.

Whenever clinic protesters tell you standing outside a clinic and approaching women, nurses, and doctors is 'just about silent prayer', look at replies to innocuous posts like this and remember what they say to abortion providers when they think no one's watching.

Yes and no. It's important to understand how restrictions to bodily autonomy are driven by misogyny & transphobia. That these attacks target certain groups is not a coincidence, but stem from reactionary ideas of 'reproductive essentialism' found in religion & naturalism.

Buffer zones will shortly commence in England and Wales, establishing a ban on protests within 150m of clinics to protect patients and staff. But are they here to stay? Here's why anti-abortion legal challenges in court will likely be unsuccessful 🥳: camreprorights.com/post/safe-acce…

It was great to speak at Cambridge University for Reproductive Rights last week on the topic of 'The US Election: What's at Stake for Reproductive Rights?'. I welcomed the opportunity to talk about substantive due process! Lovely to be in the Old Divinity School and to be with Democrats Abroad UK @DrKatieGaddini

We have a fight ahead of us to prevent another Trump presidency from reversing our hard-won progress. But we won't back down. Read our blog to learn how the Global Gag Rule could impact MSI’s frontline programmes, and the women who depend on them ⤵ buff.ly/4hQ4ghQ

In Scotland, there are no second trimester surgical abortion services and no abortion services for most indications beyond 20 weeks (despite the legal limit being 24 weeks). Back Off Scotland's Lucy Grieve has published research done with abortion providers to find out why 👇

Great to attend the launch of 'From Coercion to Choice: The Case for Liberal Natalism' by Cambridge University for Reproductive Rights The Wilberforce Society! Natalist policy is often seen as clashing with women's autonomy—here’s the data-driven case for a choice-based alternative. Thanks Helena for convening!
