Freddie Lawes, the hard-working Worshipful Master of United Services Lodge, was delighted to present a cheque for £1600 to Deputy Provincial Grand Master David Blair this week. The monies, raised at the lodge's recent Ladies Festival, will go towards our Maggie's Centres Appeal.

The Explanation of Royal Arch jewel by the Cambridgeshire Clarets last night was a fine evening of Comprehension, Companionship and above all Comprehension. With 72 Companions in attendance and every Cambridgeshire Chapter represented it was clear how highly the Royal Arch is regarded.

Seventy Freemasons convened in Ely to commemorate the 1,000th meeting of St Audrey Lodge, 2727. Attendees even included some members and guests who travelled from distant locations such as Switzerland and Zimbabwe.

The Lodge of United Good Fellowship No 809 Installation Meeting was attended by the Assistant Provincial Grand Master Jonathan Lambert. £450 was raised in sponsorship of the Wardens on Tour with friends Cycle Ride from Wisbech to Maggie's Centres in Cambridge.

The Cambridgeshire Masonic Bowls season got off to an excellent start with an indoor Inter-Lodge Pairs Competition at Ely. Geoff Day and Bryan Saddington (St. Audrey Lodge) triumphed over Roger Kilham and Richard Phillips (St. Andrew Lodge) securing the Colin Hutchinson Trophy.

Anglian Water hosted a visit to Graffham Water by several members of the Province, organised by Descensus Aquarum Lodge in Ely. They learned about the challenges of running a water supply reservoir which also provides a haven for wild life and recreation opportunities.
