Historic moment: #Canada is honoured to chair the OAS Permanent Council for the special meeting marking the inauguration of Ambassador Laura Gil Laura Gil as the first woman Assistant Secretary General.

During the internal sessions of the #193IACHRSessions, the #IACHR met with delegations from #Canada, the #UnitedStates, and #CARICOM to outline the Commission’s ongoing initiatives for promoting and protecting #HumanRights in their countries. 🤝

The #IACHR Executive Secretary, Tania Reneaum Panszi, met with the President of the OAS Consejo Permanente - OEA / OAS - Permanent Council, Ambassador Stuart Savage of Canada at the OAS. During the meeting, they discussed the regional #HumanRights agenda and the IACHR’s priorities.
