Superb article on the secret sauce of team science, in Nature Biotechnology: It takes two to think ‘Morale thrives on the encouragement we get from the feedback of someone who understands our work & it’s motivations’ Great read nature.com/articles/s4158…

Fix the care first. Fund palliative care properly. Give dying people the best possible chance of living well - please. And then - once we’re confident people aren’t being driven by lack of care into premature suicide - revisit assisted dying in parliament with confidence. Ends/

📢We have published new research today into the financial and employment impacts of unpaid end of life caring, carried out by The University of Sheffield. This research provides the first population-level estimates on the numbers of unpaid carers caring for a loved one with a terminal illness.

So far, I have really enjoyed speaking to six professionals who work with young people when their parent has cancer including therapists and support workers. We would love to speak to 4-6 more professionals so please share with someone or repost! 🎓

Myself and Dr Elida Cena are hoping to organise a workshop on use of open-source equivalents to Nvivo software for qualitative analysis. Do I know anyone who might like to facilitate and would like a trip to Belfast? Recommendations also very welcome!

Only 30% of pall care is NHS funded. Given today's vote, Keir Starmer, will you least commit to dramatically increasing palliative care provision so that patients don't "choose" to end their lives because we don't give them the care that might make life worth living?

MPs voted in favour of passing the Terminally Ill Adults (End of Life) Bill for E&W to the next stage of the Parliamentary process. We are still concerned that the Bill does not currently require a holistic assessment of unmet need See our response shorturl.at/SRwr9
