The Fried Chicken Burger from Milkwood is a thing of beauty. Beautiful cooked, crispy coating, siracha mayo, pickles and slaw bringing balance and flavours. Hot, crispy, perfectly salted skinny fries...and lots of them.

My pick of the day from Street Food Circus at Caldicot Castle was this explosion of flavour from Bao Selecta Crispy Beef Bao - Sweet cucumber, sticky ginger glaze, sesame, pickles £6

Had a really enjoyable meal at Lake Spice by Roath Park last night. The whole table commented how tasty the food was. Full of flavour, well spiced. Service slightly chaotic, but more than made up for by the food.

Had a fantastic dining experience at HEANEYS today as an early birthday treat. Full review to follow shortly.

Lovely casual dining last night at Vivo Amigo Cardiff

Another stunning meal at Pasture in Cardiff. Went for Sunday Lunch, you pay for the house cut and the trimmings come included. Opted for the Chateaubriand 650g. All beautifully cooked, hit after hit of flavour, great service. Pasture always keeping the standards high.

Chicken Massaman Curry Vegetable Spring Rolls from the wonderful Apple's Kitchen in Mountain Ash. Really good authentic Thai cooking from Apple, and a warm welcome. More of a takeaway than a sit in place (only 2 tables), but if you're in the area, then pay them a visit.

Lunch special at Saraztro on Welfield Road. Chicken Gyros at £6.95, couldn't fault it.

In the hit and miss world of ordering a Jacket Potato, Collection | milk&sugar definitely score a hit. Large potato, plenty of filling, and the chilli more like chunks of steak than mince. Decent salad garnish as well. £6.95.
