“Because PIP is a ‘passporting benefit’, losing access to it will have further knock-on effects for some families. The Govt has estimated that these reforms will take out £500 million from carers’ benefits & lead to 150,000 households losing out on CAllowance or UC carer element.

To clarify, over 3 million disabled people will see their benefits cut, resulting in many being pushed below official poverty line, but not all 3 million. But many already in poverty will be pulled into deeper poverty, and others will face hardship, though not below poverty line.
