StatCan reports -39% tighter Mar 31 canola stocks. Market was expecting stocks to be even tighter so canola reversed early gains. Other commodities in line with expectations. Wheat stocks tighter, -1.2%. Pea stocks +41%. Lentils +30%. Oats -13% & barley flat compared to last yr.

May WASDE had some surprises: Tighter old & new crop beans with no mention of China tariffs. Stronger old crop corn demand offset by bigger Brazilian crop. Sluggish wheat demand met higher new crop production with larger than expected wheat stocks. #grainmarketing
