My poem, “She Had Been Registered for Vassar at Birth,” one of my “refracted ekphrastic” poems—this time on Sidney Lumet’s “The Group” (1966) after Mary McCarthy’s “The Group” (1963)—just appeared in “Exacting Clam.” exactingclam.com/issues/no-17-s…

Not a surprise. The owner of Star Grocery in Berkeley observed today that his customers were back—they were all out protesting yesterday!

How fun! The Mary McCarthy Society republished my poem on Sidney Lumet’s adaptation of Mary McCarthy’s “The Group”! Thanks to Mary McCarthy scholar, Sabrina Fuchs Abrams, author of Mary McCarthy: Gender, Politics and the Postwar Intellectual (2004)! marymccarthy.org/landauer-poem?…

Because of the states with legislative elections this November, I just made a contribution to the DEMOCRATIC LEGISLATIVE CAMPAIGN COMMITTEE, which funds Democratic candidates in key state legislative races—too long ignored by Democrats. dlcc.org/spotlight-race…

Here’s the flyer for my reading with Lucille Lang Day sponsored by the Modesto-Stanislaus Poetry Center on Saturday, Nov. 22 in Turlock! The MoST poets are a great group—so I’m really eager to share with them!

The SF Chronicle published its obituary for my good friend, JACK FOLEY. Justly gave him a lot of words, but there was always more to say about this wonderfully many-sided person with so many deep talents. The overused Whitman “I contain multitudes” fits! tinyurl.com/d6wj6scw

My review of LAUREN BENTON’s book on colonial ‘small wars’ just came out. Laurie does as convincingly global history as anyone in the history of law, tying wonderfully sculpted microhistories from various continents to a larger picture. academic.oup.com/ejil/advance-a…
