After almost 30 years working in education, Mrs Wallace worked her last day at Carlogie! We had a special assembly today to celebrate Mrs Wallace’s work at Carlogie and in her various roles throughout Angus and Dundee. #HappyRetirement 🌈 #GrowingTogetherLearningForever

Thank you to Carnoustie Fire Station who delivered a CPR workshop to our P7 learners! P7 learned how to determine if someone is conscious, give an unconscious casualty who is not breathing CPR and put an unconscious casualty who is breathing into the recovery position. Remember DR ABC!

Happy World Book Day! 🌍📚 we celebrated this in school with a ‘Drop and Read’ with various bells ringing throughout the day 🔔 we also challenged our classes to ‘Guess the Reader’ and work out which member of staff was hiding behind their favourite book! 🤔 #WorldBookDay

This week we celebrated #BritishScienceWeek (STEM week) in school. Lots of interesting activities were planned by classes throughout the week. Thanks to our visitors from Robertson and DundeeScienceCentre who delivered workshops with classes. More pics to follow next week!

... we are also ran an inter-house Loop Glider challenge, with learners earning points for their school house if their glider flew the greatest distance. Results to be shared at Together Time next week! #STEMeducation

A big well done to P4/5 and P5 for showcasing their ‘Eco Homes of the Future’ at their learning celebration today. Both classes have been working with DundeeScienceCentre throughout their ‘Powering the Future’ IDL context to learn about renewable energy and sustainable living. 🌱♻️

We had our Easter celebration in school today with Annette joining us from Panbride Church to tell us about the Easter story. The nursery children shared a seasonal performance and Burns winners recited some poems. P7 led us through a signed song which they learned for BSL week!

A big well done to our golf team who represented Carlogie in the CBM golf tournament on Friday! It was very close and they narrowly missed out on brining home the trophy. Well done to Seaview PS and @BarnhillPrimary on their win! ⛳️ Angus Active Schools

🎭 Last week our P7s put on a fantastic performance of their end-of-year show ‘I’m an eleven year old, Get me out of here!’ The singing and comedic timing received rave reviews! 🎭 well done to all involved! #GrowingTogetherLearningForever

P1/2 learned about the lack of clean water across the world which means some children spend their time collecting water instead of accessing school. They were inspired to take action and organised an ice lolly sale at our school picnic where they raised over £300 for Water Aid!

This year P7 have engaged with an Esports IDL focus. This introduction to the world of competitive gaming helped P7 develop lots of skills across technologies, maths and literacy. @EsportsSCO came to school on Thursday to run a tournament and R and O came out on top! 🏟️🎮 #STEM

We had a wonderful morning at Newton Church for our Prizegiving end-of-term service. Learners from P4-7 were awarded trophies and shields for their achievements in learning and sport. We also sang and bid farewell to departing staff and our P7 leavers. 🌈

Our wonderful P7s and Mrs Cheape were piped out of Carlogie as they left school for the final time this afternoon. Good luck at High School and Happy Retirement! ☀️ and Happy holidays to our school community from all at Carlogie. #GrowingTogetherLearningForever 🌈
