Huge news for UCLA, as RHP Angel Cervantes (50th overall pick) announces he'll make his way to Westwood. Legit four-pitch mix, plus pitchability. FB up to 95 to go along with a plus CH and a pair of high-spin breaking balls. Could immediately earn a spot in the weekend rotation.

The Rays have signed RHP Trace Phillips to a $629,200 deal as an UDFA. He ranked as the No. 190 prospect on the BA 500. I believe that's the second largest UDFA bonus ever.

First, big thanks for all this work. Much appreciated! -6 teams don't use their full pool -4 use exact -20 go into the bonus, with one (CLE) using every penny $7,658,801 in tax on overages, of which gets split between payees that didn't spend into the bonus. $765,880 per team

I looked into the best, worst and overall "values" of the 2025 draft by assigning slot values to our BA 500 board. It's a bit cruder than I'd like, but does show you which picks and classes the BA board liked and didn't like: baseballamerica.com/stories/the-be…
