Let me tell ya: I can identify a good sandwich. Today on The Food Plot, I'm talking about where I learned this skill (from my dad, coincidentally), and how I work through where to take my dad when he comes to town. Read about it here: open.substack.com/pub/carlyjoymi…

I'm trying to remember what it's called when you have a poem that follows a vowel and the words/letters used cannot go above the height of the vowel?! (Yes, it's a diversion of also using the same letter/vowel sound as well... But what's that even called?!)

This gloomy day has a bit of sunshine, indeed! The happiest, happiest pub day to dearest Leslie Sainz! Love you so much, poet sis--cannot wait for your poems to hold so many people, as they have held me for years 💖

Anyone have a poem that demonstrates crafty syntax and has a recorded reading of it that I can play for my students? I'm going to use it as a prompt for my students' free-write time and would love to see what poems I could be missing!
