The proposed changes to Pharmacy in the 10YP have almost gone unnoticed (well, not on the MedTwitter). But I think these are MONUMENTAL. To the point of completely resetting who a pharmacist is and what they do. 1/

ā€œIf you don’t have a disability, you get suicide prevention. If you do — they treat you like your life isn’t worth living.ā€ We see a strikingly similar story unfolding in Colorado, where MAiD laws are putting people with disabilities at risk. We hope that lawmakers do the right

Some people think becoming disabled means your life (figuratively and sometimes literally) should be over. So they treat Disabled folks like independence is unrealistic, then act shocked when we face barriers those beliefs created. A self-fulfilling prophecy of their own ableism.

Canada delayed it's implementation for 3 years not to research or to prepare, but due to push back and public scrutiny in part by the disabled community. They are simply waiting until the clock runs out to implement it. They aren't planning on changing a single thing.
