Lake Naivasha Riparian Association was privileged to participate in a 5 days twinning program of wetland managers from Kenya and Uganda organized by RAMSAR CENTRE FOR EASTERN AFRICA (RAMCEA). We appreciate the great collaboration from Wildlife Research & Training Institute, Kenya Wildlife Service and the Ugandan team for the great knowledge sharing experience. #Wetlands

The Ministry of Water and Environment together with Wetlands International, and GIZ organized a technical forum that brought together academia, researchers, policy makers to discuss issues of peatlands, The outcome of this forum will inform the policy brief on peatlands in Uganda

A side event on peatlands in Uganda was held during the Water and Environment week. It was an opportunity to share knowledge and bring the peatlands topic into national discussions. Thank you@Dr Musonde for the keynote adress and to all the panelists and partners.

Communities in Sango bay reap benefits from the Wetlands International project supported by Sebastian Vettel. The communities are involved in making energy efficient cooking stoves and briquettes; have started a saving scheme and are promoting agroforestry.
