Our 4th and 5th grade orchestra kicked off this week Ola Elementary! We are proud of these students for taking on this challenge & grateful for Mrs Bain, orchestra teacher from Ola High, for giving her time to pour into our Colts. We have a full house! Get ready OMS_HCS! #WeAreOla

We recently hosted our 2nd annual Military Connections Breakfast at OES to bring our military families together & honor them with a meal. A connected school community is a strong school community! We love finding ways to serve our community & inspire connectivity! We Are Ola!

Students in Mrs. Potts’ 1st grade class participate in turn and talk engagement and close reading strategies consistently to increase their reading success! These students are growing leaps and bounds! Ola Elementary

It’s a Lights. Camera, Engage year at OES, and our families understand the assignment! Last week we had a packed house at our annual Fall Festival with over 1,000 attendees, and tonight we are spending this beautiful Fall night enjoying a movie on the lawn! We ARE OLA!

Student Showcase Night was a HUGE success! Our students enjoyed showcasing their goals and progress with their loved ones. They even taught the grown ups how to write Haikus, go through the engineering process and more! Ola Elementary

Jurassic Park STEM Day! Students dug in with strawberry DNA extraction, designed Dino traps & habitats, learned about fossils, meteors, asteroids, & the force of impact, They enjoyed an OES Museum, & excavation dig, & saw life like dinosaurs at our kick off by Prehistoric Nation!

Our Divine Girls & Boys United leadership groups had the opportunity to volunteer at a “Feed the Homeless” event last week. We are grateful for our staff who lead these opportunities for our students, demonstrating the OES heart of joyful service!

January has felt like a “Failure to Launch” month w/ all of the weather! We needed a morale boost! Our local restaurant “Baked” came through & donated a potato bar, Publix at Ola Crossroads donated desserts, & we made sure teachers started their weekend w/ a special message!

Grateful for teacher leaders, as well as introverted rockstars, for being willing to lead our teachers in learning about Number Talks and the use of math manipulatives! Also grateful for a culture of continuous improvement! #ensuringsuccess

What an energizing day we had at our OES Leadership Summit! We “Leveled Up” by digging into data, upgraded our game through Root Cause Analysis, and strategized our way through gamified feedback on lesson plan templates, the master calendar, grade level goals, & a PBIS plan!

We are in incredibly proud of our Colts for their performance at BETA Nationals! Sebastian Bell, 4th in Speech, Ariana Straker, 4th in Color Photography, Ayra Rett, 4th in Poetry, & McKenna Tatum, FIRST in Mixed Media! Our Colts also placed 8th in the Meeting of the Minds!
