What a day! 📖📚 We celebrated World Book Day UK 📚 with some incredible costumes from the children and staff. Everyone had the opportunity to read and share a favourite book, talk about their costume and then finish with a whole-school assembly.

🌳 Forest School Friday 🌳 In honour of World Book Day UK 📚, the children mixed 'medicine' from George's Marvellous Medicine by Roald Dahl. Today is also 'Plant a Flower Day', so we did! They also got to roast marshmallows over the fire which was a tasty end to the week!

Our Moki Steps Competition got underway last week. Brandt's Bats wore the bands for a whole week and completed 973,945 steps! Well done to the top 3 steppers: 🥇Joey 🥈William 🥉Harriet When every class has had their turn, the highest class average will win a free pasta treat!

We're so proud of our KS2 performers today in their dress rehearsal and at the main performance at John of Gaunt School. The children have worked so hard to put on a very entertaining show of The Wizard of Oz and every single performer absolutely blew us away!

Today was our 'Significant Lives' assembly where each year group learn about and then present information about a significant person from history. The children spoke clearly and confidently and everyone listened really well.

Year 3 enjoyed their trip to St James's Church on Monday. They took part in a carousel of activities where they learnt about Christian Holy Week in the lead up to Easter and why Christian's celebrate Easter.

🌳 Our Forest School has a new name and these children helped to name it! We celebrated them in assembly today. 🌳 🦇 The new sign will be added to the Bats' Roost Forest School area very soon. 🦇

Year 4 had a super residential trip to Grittleton House this week!

🌳Forest School Friday 🌳 Today, the children enjoyed a water fight to cool off in the sun. No one was dry by the end! They also celebrated National Hedgehog Day by making clay hedgehogs, crafted stick caterpillars, dug for 'fossils', climbed trees and made smelly potions.

We've been busy over the last 2 weeks completing the TCS London Marathon Mini Marathon in school! Today was the final day with medals donated by the Avon Valley Runners and DB Max being handed out in celebration of their 2 mile run. Your donations raised £45.60 too - thank you!

🎾 Well done to our Y3 tennis team who took part in the King's Cup tournament today in Trowbridge Park. They finished 🥉overall! Thanks to everyone at Active Trowbridge and the sports leaders from John of Gaunt for making it a fantastic day.

🇬🇧 VE Day celebrations 🇬🇧 Yesterday, we had an assembly where each class showed off some VE Day artwork. This helped to decorate the school gates this morning as everyone arrived in ♥️, 🤍 and 💙. The children also had a special lunch in the hall thanks to our catering team!
